Last year Gigabyte announced that it will join ultrabooks market and now we see it unveiling the brand new U2442 machines at CeBIT 2012. The two models U2442N and U2442V will have a slim and light design with only 18.5-20.5mm thick and weighing just 1.49Kg, making them a great option for portability. Despite their light form factor, both ultrabooks are equipped with powerful hardware that you can find on larger laptops.
Equipped with Intel’s third generation of processors Ivy Bridge class Core i5 or i7 options to deliver blazing performance and GeForce GT 640M GPU with 2GB of memory for a great gaming experience, both ultrabooks have a high 14-inch screen resolution of 1600×900 pixels, up to 750GB of hard drive or you can opt for a speedy SSD. Connectivity wise, they include USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and Thunderbolt(optional) 2T2R Double Antenna Wi-Fi and more.
Aside from these two machines, Gygabite also announced the P2542G gaming laptop that isn’t very thin but it does pack impressive technical specs inside such as: fast Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M GPU with 2GB VRAM, a Blu-ray drive, a THX technology for a great audio experience , a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 display, USB ports and HDMI socket. A good alternative for consumers searching for gaming and multimedia actions.
The company didn’t give any infos regarding ultrabooks’ pricing or launch time, but we’ll keep updating as soon as new details emerge.
