Thunderbolt ports come to ultrabooks in Q2
Important ultrabook manufacturers such as Acer, Lenovo and Asus will use Intel’s Thuderbolt I/O ports on their machines this year in Q2. As most of upcoming ultrabook will be equipped with Intel’s new platform, Ivy Bridge, they will also support this new technology.
Apple was the first company to intoduce Thunderbolt I/O port, a technology that combines DisplayPort for image display and PCI Express for data transmission. DigiTimes reported that most of high-end notebooks or desktops will adopt this technology in 2012 with a cost of $20.
There are also indications (according to Boy Genius Report) that Apple will begin using this
